Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste
management in the U.S. Northeast, is seeking a dedicated Side Load
Truck Driver to join our transportation and logistics team. This
position is vital for the smooth operation of our services,
ensuring efficient waste collection and transport. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for operating side loader trucks,
adhering to all operational, safety, and environmental guidelines.
By joining our team, you will play a crucial role in our mission to
provide sustainable waste management solutions while maintaining
the highest standards of safety and compliance. Operate side load
waste collection trucks within assigned routes efficiently and
safely. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as
per company guidelines and report any issues or hazards. Ensure
that waste, recycling materials, and other debris are collected and
transported correctly, adhering to all municipal guidelines and
company policies. Coordinate with the dispatch team to report
progress and any route changes or delays that may occur. Assist in
the maintenance and minor repairs of vehicles to ensure operational
efficiency and safety. Uphold the standards of cleanliness and
safety at all times, including maintaining a clean vehicle exterior
and interior. Provide exceptional customer service to both
residential and commercial customers, and address their concerns
promptly. Knowledge of truck operating procedures and maintenance.
Ability to operate side loader and other waste collection equipment
proficiently. Strong understanding of road safety regulations and
traffic laws. Capability to perform physical tasks involved in
waste collection and disposal. Excellent navigation skills and
familiarity with local routes. Good communication and interpersonal
skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving
record. DOT Medical Certificates as per federal regulations.
