Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years (will accept 1st-time travelers with sufficient Medical Surgical experience) License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Med/Surg experience Telemetry - remote monitoring experience IV insulin protocol knowledge Colostomy care skills Feeding tube care and management Pre/post hemodialysis experience Renal failure management Port access skills Blood product administration knowledge Central line blood draw experience Peripheral line care and management PICC line management Starting IVs proficiency Heparin and insulin administration knowledge CVA management experience Pre/post neuro surgery skills Total joint replacement experience Surgical drain management Chest tube care Nasal cannula administration Oral suctioning skills Oxygen management experience Tracheostomy management knowledge Description: This position involves caring for patients in a medical surgical setting. The unit consists of 23 beds with a patient ratio of 1:7. Weekend shifts are required every other week. Documentation will be completed using an electronic health record system. The role requires strong technical and clinical skills in Med/Surg nursing. Travelers must be responsive to calls for rapid response or code teams. Isolation precautions and PPE use are mandatory. Candidates should have experience in managing oxygen tanks and non-invasive airway management.
