Job Description:
JOB TITLE: X-Ray Technician (6-12 Month Contract Beginning
January 2026) EMPLOYER: Progressive Spine & Orthopaedics SUMMARY:
Serves as initial contact for all patients visiting the office.
Also serves as the X-Ray Technician which duties include explaining
procedures to patients, calibrating imaging equipment and preparing
results. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answers, screens, and directs
calls on multi-line phone system; takes detailed messages and/or
forwards telephone calls to appropriate practitioner, voice mail,
or pager. Clears messages each morning and delivers to appropriate
practitioner. Meets and greets patients; announces, directs, and/or
escorts to appropriate area. Opens and routes incoming mail.
Composes and types routine correspondence as required. Performs
general clerical duties including but not limited to filing,
photocopying, faxing, and mailing as required. Keeps reception area
organized. Following instructions from Physicians regarding which
area of the patients body needs imaging. Talk the patient through
the procedure and answer questions to lower their anxiety.
Correctly position the patient, adjust the imaging equipment to the
specified position. Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to
themselves and to the patient. Follow correct techniques and
procedures such as patient shielding. Maintain radiology supplies
inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing
orders. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing
with confidential and sensitive issues. Performs other related
duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree
in radiologic technology. A minimum of 2 years working experience
in a healthcare facility as an x-ray or radiology technician as
well as front desk experience. Must have the required medical
licenses to operate in a given area. Must have a clear
understanding of how to handle and operate medical imaging
equipment. Must display a high level of flexibility in the process
of carrying out assigned duties and dual responsibilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to share updates
with patients and other medical staff. Strong analytical thinking
and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Superb
customer service skills to provide ongoing support to patients and
their families. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of
individuals at all organizational levels. Commitment to excellence
and high standards. Strong organizational skills; able to manage
priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility, and a
willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with
enthusiasm. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus. Professional
appearance and demeanor are always required. GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

In accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act, this role
falls within Pay Grade 10 of the 2025 OPM Salary Table for the NY,
